Resource Plan Overview

Resource planning is a collaborative and iterative process designed to identify the appropriate resources and conservation efforts to continue providing safe and reliable service to our customers. Our resource plans propose future power supplies to meet the future needs of our customers. These plans ensure that we can provide you the electricity and/or natural gas that you depend on.

The plans often propose bold strategies around cleaner operations, including but not limited to, reducing carbon emissions, transitioning from coal to cleaner energy options, including wind, solar and natural gas, and accelerating renewable energy development. Plans also consider other energy resources, such as our nuclear plants and energy efficiency. Resource plans also typically include measures to support the growing economies of the state and consider the impact of plans on the communities where we serve.

Resource plans are developed by considering studies, forecasts, regulatory requirements, and information exchanged through a robust stakeholder engagement process, combined with historical data, existing and potential resource capability, and costs associated with alternative portfolio solutions.

Energy Saving Tip

Set your hot water heater to no higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This isn't just energy smart—it's also safer, since it reduces the likelihood of accidental burns.

Break Ground, Not the Law

Always call 811 before digging in your yard to avoid hitting buried gas or electric lines. Not only is it the safe thing to do, but it's the law.
