Arts and Culture

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat actor

This teen, cast as "Joseph" joined nearly 150 teens from the Fargo, N.D., area, led by professional artists and technicians from across the country, as they performed in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Creativity sparks the imagination and drives the development of new ideas that can transform the way we live. Artistic expression thrives on diversity, bringing communities together in shared experiences that foster understanding.

Xcel Energy Foundation's Corporate Giving Program supports efforts to increase accessibility to artistic and cultural activities that enable all members of our communities to participate in the arts.

In 2009, Xcel Energy Foundation's Corporate Giving Program will review requests for sponsorships of performances, exhibitions and cultural events. Here are a few examples:

Fargo Park District

An Xcel Energy foundation arts and culture grant helps fund arts experiences for the community. The arts and cultural programming is provided at no cost with an emphasis on reaching children in low-income areas and areas with mainly New Americans throughout the Fargo-Moorhead metro community.

Trollwood Performing Arts School

Based in Moorhead, Minn., Trollwood Performing Arts School (TPAS) is the home of hundreds of young people each summer who strive to reach their full potential through classes and performances in theatre, music, dance, video production, design, writing, and technical theatre. The program is a recipient of an arts and culture grant from the Xcel Energy Foundation.

In 2008, Xcel Energy Foundation committed $836,500 to programs supporting the arts throughout our service territory.
