Support for the United Way

2008 United Way campaign

Xcel Energy cares about the communities in which we serve, work and live. That's why our employees and retirees share a long and generous history of giving time and funding to United Way and the programs it supports. We know we're helping our neighbors, friends, families and customers.

United Ways across the country were grateful for the generosity of our employees. The Xcel Energy Foundation matched employee's gifts dollar-for-dollar, for a total contribution of more than $5.2 million of critical community support.

The employees and retirees of Xcel Energy are recognized nationally as leaders in corporate citizenship. In May of 2007, United Way of America recognized Xcel Energy's people with the Spirit of America Award, as part of their prestigious national corporate awards program. Our campaign has also been recognized for excellence by regional United Way chapters including the United Way of Amarillo-Canyon, which selected Xcel Energy as recipient of their "Spirit of the High Plains" for the 2008 campaign.

Xcel Energy is a member of the United Way of America National Corporate Leadership Council.
