Why do our products and services differ based on state? Because our business is regulated by state. We have regulated operations in eight Western and Midwestern states. The different regulatory body for each state we serve determines what products and services we deliver in that state.

Expanding Our Use of Renewable Resources

Our vision for a clean energy future involves expanding the use of renewable power and bringing these resources onto our system at a reasonable price to:

  • Improve our overall environmental performance and help reduce emissions;
  • Diversify our energy portfolio, reducing our dependency on any one power source;
  • Provide energy at a fixed cost without being subject to fluctuations in fuel prices, which can be the case with power from coal and natural gas; and
  • Help us to comply with renewable energy standards in the states where we operate.

In 2010, about 10 percent of our power supply came from wind, solar and biomass sources, about double what it was just three years ago.
