When you use energy more efficiently, we save natural resources and reduce power plant emissions. In addition to our work to provide cleaner energy, we offer customers many ways to reduce environmental impact too, including:

• Some of the largest and most successful energy saving programs in the United States – last year Xcel Energy customers saved enough energy to meet the electricity needs of nearly 122,000 homes and the natural gas needs of more than 14,000 homes for one year
• Choice in the power you use – we offer Windsource® if you want to designate that some or all of our electricity come from renewable energy sources and Solar*Rewards to make installing solar energy more affordable
• Support for customers who choose to drive electric – we are taking steps to prepare our electric system, to learn more about vehicle charging requirements and to share information with our customers
• Recycling options for customers with used compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) or old refrigerators
