Why do our products and services differ based on state? Because our business is regulated by state. We have regulated operations in eight Western and Midwestern states. The different regulatory body for each state we serve determines what products and services we deliver in that state.

At Xcel Energy, the fossil fuels we use to make electricity emit greenhouse gases that are linked to climate change. Our customers, communities, shareholders and employees expect us to take action and protect their interests. We look for cost-effective opportunities to reduce these emissions from our operations by improving our generating plant fleet, increasing the use of renewable energy and offering energy efficiency programs for customers.
