Why do our products and services differ based on state? Because our business is regulated by state. We have regulated operations in eight Western and Midwestern states. The different regulatory body for each state we serve determines what products and services we deliver in that state.

Economic Sustainability Focus Area Guidelines
We help communities develop economic opportunities
We work to assist communities in developing economic opportunities for all citizens. Our Economic Sustainability focus area grants target programs that assist individuals in obtaining employment, that create jobs and that help individuals become economically self-sufficient. In 2011, we granted $1,165,180 to programs that support economic sustainability across our service territory.
The foundation prefers to support:
- Programs that promote economic self-sufficiency with an emphasis on job creation and workforce readiness;
- Transitional housing programs that provide educational employment and job placement services for low-income populations;
- Programs that promote personal skill development and case management, including job entry skills and retraining of unemployed and underemployed workers; and
- Community development projects that seek to improve the economic well-being and sustainability for a community targeting underserved populations.
